I have a long form poem I wrote inspired by an archaeological dig I was on last summer. Among the inspiration were the trees covered in moss and lichen. One of those trees inspired a sweater design.

My first sketch and a photoshop of the tree as a sweater:

After some experimentation, I decided to explore a more traditional design while keeping the organic feel of the inspo.

The body of the sweater mimics the bark of the tree:

While the yoke of the sweater recalls moss, given dimensionality by adding a light green alpaca/silk yarn to the rustic green wool of the colorwork.

The ribbing at the cuff and hem will echo the white lichen using a brioche stitch using the tweed yarn of the body along with an off-white.
